Code Confidence announces task-aware debugging tools for FreeRTOS developers

August 15, 2014 -- CAMBRIDGE, UK -- Code Confidence Ltd, the embedded software tooling specialists, today announced the Code Confidence Tools for FreeRTOS.

Based on the award-winning Eclipse™ Platform and C/C++ Development Tooling (CDT), the Code Confidence™ Tools provide a task-aware debugging environment for application developers working with the FreeRTOS™ kernel.

The tools incorporate a remote debugging launcher which works in conjunction with JTAG, SWD or BDM debug hardware supporting the GDB Remote protocol. It enables the downloading and launching of FreeRTOS applications with full support for task-aware debugging at both source code and machine assembly levels using Code Confidence ThreadSpy™ technology. All debugging features are fully integrated with the high-performance Debugger Services Framework (DSF), enabling the use of per-task breakpoints, watchpoints and single-stepping while allowing the inspection of call stacks, source code variables, processor registers and memory regions.

"We've designed the tools to enhance productivity while debugging FreeRTOS application code" explained John Dallaway, Director at Code Confidence. "Everything necessary to enable task-aware debugging is available for rapid download and installation from within the Eclipse workbench."

The Code Confidence Tools for FreeRTOS are available on both Windows and Linux development hosts. For further details, visit the Code Confidence website: http://www.codeconfidence.com/tools
