Code Confidence announces tools validation for eCos on Power Architecture

June 18, 2012 -- CAMBRIDGE, UK -- Code Confidence Ltd, the embedded software tooling specialists, today announced the validation of their professional development tools for use with Power Architecture™ (formerly PowerPC®) hardware. A complete set of GNU tools for PowerPC is now available within the latest revision of the Code Confidence Tools for eCos.

Based on the award-winning Eclipse™ Platform and C/C++ Development Tooling (CDT), the Code Confidence™ Tools provide a fully-integrated development environment for application developers working with the eCos® real-time operating system. Product features include project creation wizards, an advanced configuration editor, C/C++ editor integration, performance-optimized GNU toolchains and kernel-aware debug views which simplify and accelerate eCos application debugging. The tools incorporate ThreadSpy™ technology for the thread-aware debugging of eCos applications using JTAG, BDM and other on-chip debug hardware. Code analysis features enable the retrieval of profiling and code coverage data from remote target hardware for presentation within the Eclipse workbench.

"This validation extends the coverage of our embedded development software to another popular processor architecture." commented John Dallaway, Director at Code Confidence. "eCos developers working with Power Architecture hardware can now take full advantage of the productivity gains afforded by the Code Confidence Tools."
